In 1982 Missouri started Ten Mile Pond Conservation Area. This 3,755 acre area was aimed at reestablishing
wetland habitat. Through manipulation of water levels, they provide high quality natural foods, such as millet,
smartweed, sprangletops, sedges, pigweeds, and invertebrates. In combination with Ten Mile Pond, other
conservation areas, and National Wildlife Refuge systems add to the success and tradition of hunting here in
Southeast Missouri.
Located just across the Mississippi River in Tennessee is the Reelfoot National Wildlife Refuge. This area is
currently 10,428 acres large and may exceed a waterfowl population of over 500,000. Along with Reelfoot, here in
Southeast Missouri we host several waterfowl management areas. Mingo National Wildlife Refuge area being one
of the largest. This area is 21,592 acres and is made up of just over 15,000 acres of bottomland hardwood forest.
At PHC we have done our best to provide multiple food supplies, and plenty of resting areas for the waterfowl. We have upwards of 14
places to hunt at one time, but have pledged to hunt two to three spots per day. This prevents us from burning out our spots and has
increased the average harvest each year. We are very proud of our waterfowl hunting heritage, and extremely satisfied with the area we
have created. We welcome you to enjoy this wonderful sport with us.
And remember to take a kid hunting so that our tradition will live on forever.

Pinhook Hunting Club was founded by life long friends and hunting partners; Jamie Pollock, Rick
Schuerenberg, Mark Dugan, and David Crader. Dedicated to keeping our rich hunting tradition alive
here in Southeast Missouri, they purchased a small piece of land in Mississippi County. As the number
of hours, and success in the field grew each year, so did the size of PHC. They started the club to
provide a premiere waterfowl guide serviced hunting situation on some of the best waterfowl real estate
anywhere.

Ten Mile Pond Conservation Area. Located in Mississippi County, 5 miles southeast of East Prairie on Hwy 102.
This area was once a lowland hardwood forest intermingled with cypress tupelo sloughs. Most of the area
flooded seasonally and was an important area for wintering waterfowl.
In combination with Otters Slough (4,866 acres) and Duck Creek (6,234 acres) two highly successful management areas, you can
understand why we here in Southeast Missouri have had such a high success rate. Due to the growing trend of rice production in the
area, and the abundance of flooded fields, hunting has continued to get better.
